Pre-Shipment Inspection:
Visual Inspection
Check the flatness of the tank surface, and observe any dents, deformation, or welding defect. Check that the protective paint applied is even, without peeling, for good appearance and corrosion resistance.
Electrical Performance Testing
Conduct a ratio test by using a ratio bridge in order to measure the voltage ratio of the transformer. The ratio needs to fall within the margin of permissive error; otherwise, voltage output will be affected and might impact system functionality.
Oil Quality Assessment
Check the oil for contamination and water. Admixtures like water reduce the insulation capability of the oil, while contaminants can block passages. Oil cleanliness is vital for the good performance of a transformer.
